Ahmad Aziz is a highly qualified and experienced full-time consultant ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and oculoplastics at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based at the Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital in London. He has extensive expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, lacrimal disease, orbital pathology, endoscopic lacrimal surgery training for ENT surgeons, complex orbital apex surgery, and anterior skull base pathology. He currently serves as the clinical lead for the department of Surgery Laser & Team Transformation while also being an active member of the Facial Reconstruction Service at Imperial along with Pituitary Thyroid Eye Disease Skull Base Skin Anterior Skull Base Multidisciplinary teams. Recently he set up a one-stop cataract clinic to streamline patient care which demonstrates his commitment to providing excellent healthcare services.
He graduated from University College London with degrees in Medicine and Medical Physics & Bioengineering, and won the Fitton Price during his time there. He received initial training in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery before pursuing a career in Oculoplastics and Ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital before further orbital training under the Maxillofacial department at North West London University Healthcare Trust.
His research focuses on the fields of oculoplastics, thyroid eye disease, paediatric nasolacrimal duct obstructions and patient outcomes. He has presented his work at international meetings in the UK, USA and Europe. Dr. Aziz teaches medical students at Imperial College London and trains trainee ophthalmologists in cataract surgery and oculoplastics with eyelid surgery and endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy.
He is a member of the British Oculoplastic Society, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal Society of Medicine, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Visit Clinic now.
